March Madness - the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is contested over a 19-day span in March and early April, and has become one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in America.  The tournament is held in 12 cities over the first two weekends, before the Final Four convene at the pinnacle of the college hoops season.

NCAA Tournament Tickets

Tickets to the tournament are available through the school or conference hosting the session; the NCAA itself does not sell tickets.  Tickets are sold in booklets for the entire weekend; you cannot buy tickets for individual games or sessions.

For the first and second rounds, which consist of two doubleheaders Thursday or Friday and one doubleheader on Saturday or Sunday at each site, prices are $105-$150.  Prices for the regionals, consisting of a doubleheader Thursday or Friday night and a single game on Saturday or Sunday, run from about $100-$120.

One tried and true method of acquiring tournament tickets is to buy them off fans of teams that lose early.  Many of these fans have no interest in the games after their team has lost, and will part with their tickets at face value or less.

For Final Four ticket information, see our Final Four info page.

NCAA Tournament Travel Information

Because the participants are not known until just before the tournament, flights into first round cities are generally available.  Flights for the regionals can be tougher to find.  In either case, it is always advisable to book flights early.

Hotels tend to fill up for tournament host cities; you should always book as early as possible.  Click here for hotel information.
